"Grandma Dorothy will be very much missed but I rest assured she is in heaven with those that have gone before her. She?s always been such a kind, caring, and sweet lady that I was honored to call grandma and Jason did as well. I will continue on quilting, crocheting and loving others in her honor. We will miss you! "

"So sad to hear of this news. My mother - Liz von Ahsen and Dorothy spent many times together. While growing up in the area, we spent many times at Dorothy and Joe's house for card parties and such. She always had a happy house to go visit and we spent many times there. God bless you all as you celebrate her memorable life. Gordon & Kathleen von Ahsen - Harlan, Iowa."
"Oh sweet Great Grandma Dorothy, you will be truly missed here on earth but I know you?re loving every second of heaven. For selfish reasons I?m sad you?re gone, but for you I will be happy. You were always full of sass but never failed to give the best advice. I am so thankful my girls have their great, great grandma to be their guardian angel - you will be the best one. Have fun up there, say hi to grandpa for me! Until we meet again, rest in peace sweet, sweet angel. "

"This was the most amazing woman I have ever met. She was my best friend and my biggest fan. She will be missed beyond what I can put into words. She got to spend her entire life right where she was born, she watched her children grow and her family multiply.
