"Dear Neighbors, Wish I had gotten to know Hans better through all these years. Comfort and blessings to the family. We know from where our help comes. It comes from the Lord. Barbara Rockow"
Hans Erik Pedersen, 81, passed away on December 29, 2021. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Max and Ellen Pedersen. He graduated from Beloit College and received his MBA degree from DePaul University where he was elected to the business honorary, Beta Gamma Sigma. In 1968 he married the love of his life, Shirley Nichols, and they spent 53 wonderful years together. In 1972 they moved to Phoenix as part of the corporate move of Armour-Dial. After a brief stint as an owner of a Swensen's Ice Cream Factory, he joined the Department of Public Safety as an Administrative Services Officer. While he was with DPS he was elected Regional Secretary of the C.A.R.E. organization. He retired in 1992. He was an avid stamp collector, enjoyed playing bridge, watching sports, and traveling. His absolute favorite thing in the world, however, was to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Erik and James (Jennifer), daughter Elizabeth Fagan (Eric), and granddaughters Stella and Harper Pedersen and Ashley Fagan.
Services will be determined at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
