MARY ANN BELMORE MAKI
December 19, 1968 - December 29, 2021

Mary Ann Belmore Maki, 53, of Marquette, passed away on Wednesday
morning, December 29, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family
and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Mary was born December 19, 1968 in Marquette to Dale Kantola and
Constance Belmore. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School in
1987 and then went on to NMU to study criminal justice and social work.
Mary worked for a period of time as a care aide for Eastwood Nursing
Center, the county jail, Citgo and the Family Dollar's in Negaunee and
Ishpeming. She was a member of the Marquette American Legion.

Mary enjoyed family time, cooking, and was known as a sports mom. She
had a passion for gardening and a love for flowers. Her hobbies also
included camping, hunting, snowmobiling and she loved going to auto
auctions. Mary was a true free spirit, nature lover, very sociable and
spiritual.

She is survived by her mother, Constance Belmore; children, Jay Campbell
Jr., Glenn and Matthew Maki and Alycea (Zach) Maki; sister, Connie
Belmore; niece and nephew, Brock & Zoie Retaskie, close family and best
friends; Linda, Mary, Joyce, Dorothy, Margaret, Harold Belmore; and several other family members, Amy and Alex Robinson, Michael Abbott, Jolyne Abbott, Anna D'Ambrosia as well as Janice, Bianca and Dylan Flath. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Kantola and uncle Gary Kantola.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held in the summer.
