Craig Brian Meyers was born April 27, 1960, the son of William "Bill" and Audrey Ann (Leerar) Meyers in Belmond, Iowa. He grew up in Corwith and graduated from Corwith Wesley High School in 1978. Craig was very active in high school sports and band. He went to state in track and field and basketball. After high school, he went on to Iowa State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Ag Business in 1982.

He was united in marriage to Roberta Kelch on July 5, 1986, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. Craig worked at the First State Bank in Belmond, State Bank in Des Moines, and numerous other banks before ending back in Algona where he worked at Northwest Federal Bank and later at Security State Bank where he was the Vice President.

Craig was a loyal family man who loved raising his four girls and rarely ever said no to them. He enjoyed pushing his kids in their sports and watching them succeed in whatever they did. Craig also enjoyed playing basketball and riding the bike trails in Algona. He loved to cook, bake, talk to others, garden, go to garage sales, and collect antiques. Craig was a very faithful man who was very involved at Grace Church. He was also a member of the Morwens Kiwanis, and served on many other community boards.

Craig was a role model to many people especially to his girls and his nieces and nephews. His faith and family were the forefront of his life.

I also became friends Roberta and met her Dad and had wonderful relationship the short time I knew him. I am in shock to here of his passing and will miss him. He was a staple in our mens bible study on friday mornings and we enjoyed razing him cause he was always the last one to show up. "Roberta and family, please know we are thinking of you all. Craig will be missed! He was such a great guy in high school and a great man throughout his adult life. We always enjoyed speaking to him a the bank, at local events and at Corwith Community events. He always had a smile or a little happy smirk on his face. He had a twinkle in his eyes that made you feel like part of his family. He excelled at everything he did but most of all, he had endless love for his family. Our deepest sympathy! "

Dan Widen wrote on Jan 1, 2022:

"Roberta and family, you have my family and the entire Widen families deepest sympathy and our condolences. This was a deep, heart wrenching shock when I heard the news from classmate and friend Randy Weig, of Craigs\' passing. I have been so blessed to have known Craig over all these years growing up, and am so sorry I had not been able to have gotten to know him better in our adult lives. Craig was an intelligent, talented, Godly and fun loving guy! He always seemed to have a smile on his face, and a very positive \"can do\" attitude and hard worker. I remember Craig to be one of the fastest kids around, and always wished he could have played football...he certainly excelled in the other sports he participated in and everything else he did. And of course, Craig always had the best hair in high school as well. I was so jealous! Ha! The world and especially the local community, has lost a great guy! Rest in peace Craig Meyers! Roberta and girls, our thoughts and prayers are with you. All those pictures/memories on this site are so special!"
