Donald Kealen
July 27, 1931 - December 27, 2021

Donald L. Kealen, age 90, of Quincy, died on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 12:16 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.

Donald was born July 27, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Albert and Dorothy Dodd Kealen. On September 1, 1951 he married Bonnie E. Newberry in Central Baptist Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2015.

Donald served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in the saw room at Gardner-Denver as a machine operator for 31 years. Donald was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where he served as custodian for 27 years. Donald was a die hard Cubs fan, as well as an avid baseball memorabilia collector. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include: a son, John (Judy) Kealen of Low Point, IL; a daughter, Debbie (Robert) Chamberlain of Quincy; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Caleb) Arnsman of Quincy; Nat (Erin) Kealen of German Town Hills, IL; Charlotte (Trevor) Silver of Low Point, IL; and Master Sgt. Johnathan (Kellie) Kealen of Yuma, AZ; 11 great grandchildren: Emily, Elizabeth, Emma, Ella, and Elaina Silver; Jack, Andrew, and Sam Kealen; Payton and Knox Arnsman; and Kai Kealen; a sister-in-law, Mary Bradley of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kent Kealen.

In addition to his wife, Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Kealen; three brothers-in-law: Bob Bergman, James Bradley, and Ray Stupavsky; and two sisters-in-law, Trudy Stupavsky and Betty Bergman.

Services: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor John Kealen, Pastor Nat Kealen, and Pastor Jason Moncofsky officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, with military honors provided by American Legion Post #37 and the United States Air Force Funeral Honors Detail.

Visitation: 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church.
