Carlene M. 'Corky' Kemner, age 98, of Quincy, died on Friday, December 24, 2021 at 11:55 pm in Bradford Villa, Quincy, Illinois.
Corky was born on April 27, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Otto William and Martha Harriet Dunn Zimmerman. On May 20, 1953, she married Joseph T. Kemner in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1991.
Corky was a 1942 graduate of Quincy High School. Corky enjoyed her career as a sales person at Kirlin's for 23 years and at Kresge's for 22 years. She enjoyed sewing and other home crafts. Corky was devoted to her family and loved all of her nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Corky is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother, Carl Zimmerman, in infancy, a brother, Joseph Zimmerman, three sisters, Hilda Larson, Ardell Musick and Jennie Kemner, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. The family encourages you to wear a mask if you plan to attend the visitation.
Service: 11:00 am on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating. The family encourages you to wear a mask if you plan to attend the servcie.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
