Lois Phillips, 89, of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Rev. Mike Stevens officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Lois and her family.

OBITUARY
Lois Irene (Butterfield) Phillips, 89, of Glenwood, IA, passed away December 25, 2021 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE.
Lois was born on April 6, 1932 on a farm near Silver City, IA, one of three children of Fay Mills and Edna Maurine (Henderson) Butterfield. She grew up near Henderson, IA and graduated from the Henderson Consolidated High School in 1949. Lois attended secretary school in Omaha and worked at a lawyer's office for a time. She attended Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines, IA, graduating in 1954. Lois was the school nurse for the Nishna Valley School District and then worked at the Glenwood State School in Glenwood until retirement.
Lois and Carrol James Phillips were united in marriage on December 7, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Henderson. They lived in the Henderson area and they were blessed with two children, Ann and Bill. In 1983 the couple moved to Glenwood, IA. She and Carrol were married 44 years when Carrol passed away on April 2, 2001.
Lois enjoyed flower gardening, butterflies, and needle handwork. She was an avid genealogist and enjoyed sharing her finds. Lois planned the annual Henderson cousins' reunion for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.
In addition to her beloved husband Carrol, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Kenneth Butterfield; and sister Shirley Duysen.
Lois is survived by her daughter Ann Pavkov and husband Bill of Hastings, IA; son Bill Phillips and wife Priscilla of Papillion, NE; 6 grandchildren, Zachary (Jennifer) Pavkov, James (Jeanette) Pavkov, Kelsey (Shane) Beatty, Cassaundra (J.J.) Bonk, Alexandra (Adam) Schutz, and Theadora (Forrest) Nicholson; 8 great grandchildren, Kellar, Vivienne, Barrett, Cooper, Paxton, Evelyn, Addison, and Nora (with another due in February 2022); many cousins; and a host of friends.
