David "Dave" Tourney, age 73, of Quincy, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 4:48 pm in Blessing Hospital.
David was born December 26, 1947 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Marvin and Marjorie Dace Tourney. He married Traci Watkins on March 21, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV.
He graduated from Quincy High School in 1966. David worked at Moorman Manufacturing/ADM for 37 years before his retirement from them.
David loved mushroom hunting, metal detecting, playing washers, boating, and fishing. He adored his beloved pets, Darcy and Bridget.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son, Devin Tourney; his daughter, Heather (Wayland) Mutter; two grandsons, Gadden and Emmett Mutter; his sister, Rebecca (Russell) Smith of Clayton, IL; two very close friends, Marcia Strother, and Tom Graham both of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin "Junior" Tourney; sister, Judy Pulliam, and an infant sister Linda Tourney; and a half brother, John Frericks.
Services: 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Schluckebier officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois, with Military Honors conducted by the United States Navy and the American Legion Post 37.
Visitation: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Wednesday December 29, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
