Ronnie Bendt, 71, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Silver City Cemetery in Silver City with military honors. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Ronnie Philip Bendt, 71 of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.

Ronnie was born on April 11, 1950 in Council Bluffs, one of three sons of Earl Walter and Phyllis Marie (McCoy) Bendt. He grew up in Silver City and graduated from the Glenwood High School in 1968. Ronnie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Army he was active duty for the Iowa National Guard. During which time he was deployed to Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia. Ronnie worked at Cintas until he retired.

Ronnie and Joan Elizabeth Williams were united in marriage on July 11, 1970 at the Silver City Parsonage. They were blessed with three children, Brian, Renae, and Jason.

Ronnie enjoyed a cold beer and socializing with his friends at the bar. He really enjoyed mushroom hunting with his family. Ronnie loved any type of gatherings with his family and grandchildren.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan of Glenwood; children, Brian (KJ) Bendt of Glenwood, Renae Pearce of Malvern, IA, and Jason Bendt of Allenwood, PA; grandchildren, Jesse, Paige, Aaron, Taylor, Dawson, and Alexis; brothers, Roger Bendt of Silver City, and LeRoy Bendt of Tabor, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
