Allie M Jackson was born August 21, 1926 to John and Elyan Knight. Allie was called at 11:15 PM on December 19, 2021 to her Heavenly home.Allie accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Soso Mississippi where she also attended Shady Oak High School. Many growing up years on the one hundred fifty acre farm. Lots of cotton picking, corn, potatoes, beans and sugar cane work. She married James Chambers to this union three daughters. She worked at Boone Clinic and Pinehurst Hotel for some time. She moved to Illinois later years for many years. Her mother passed and she moved back home to Mississippi to care for her father. After losing her father, she later met and married Marion Jackson. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church for 40 years. During that time, she cared for her neighbors.
Allie was a kind and giving person. Her mission was to be of help to others whether they were young or old. She would lend a helping hand to those that others might have seen as bums. She always saw the good in everyone. She would say that you don't know what we might come to or where we might need to turn for that last drink of water. I learned a life long lesson from her. There was a time when Allie provided care, in her own home, for a needy neighbor. When that neighbor was later in a nursing home, Allie visited her everyday after work until that neighbor's passing. There was another neighbor that she would cook and do laundry for after Allie's long day on her job.
After her health began to fail, she moved to Omaha Nebraska to live with her daughter Annie Haynes and in 2010, she joined Salem Baptist Church (under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Selwyn Q. Bachus). During the winter months, Allie would go to Arizona where she lived with her daughter Mary Trotter. Allie enjoyed the warmer weather and the daily trips to the park.
Preceding Allie in death were her parents, her daughter Laura Jelks, her granddaughter Nkechi Parris, her brothers Damous and Darnell, her sisters Alma, Alfoncya, Alfa Mae and Adell.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Mary (Bill) Trotter, Annie (Gene) Haynes, her sister Annie Ruth (Nook) who lives in Lockport Illinois, her grandsons Warrin (Kathy) Creel in Pekin Illinois, Raymond (Dori) Creel in Goodyear Arizona, Jerel Haynes in Simi Valley California, grand daughter Nikki Jelks in Rochester New York, great grandsons Tyrell Creel, Caleb and Jacob Haynes, Victor Parris, great granddaughter Na-Brya Burns. Allie leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends each of which she called her favorite.
