"Velva was such a beautiful lady. Inner and outer beauty both she radiated goodness. She was the first Ward member when I moved in to introduce herself and she asked me to sit by her in church. She also invited me to a church study group in which I found her to be so very strong and insightful about the gospel. It really meant a lot to me. And we were neighbors in the same four Plex. It was only the week before she passed she was telling me of her plans to visit family for the holidays. And talked about her recent cataract surgery and health, etc. I feel like I found out about her passing a week or so later. It was so sad. I wish I had been a better neighbor and friend. I did not know her family. Although she always spoke of them fondly. And her grandchildren sports etc activities. Please know my prayers are with you all. You have a beautiful guardian Angel. Love, Carrie James"
