Richard Paul Fogo
July 2, 1933 - November 16, 2021

Richard Paul Fogo, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2021. Richard was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Edward and Virginia Fogo on July 2, 1933. He was a graduate of
St. Thomas Aquinas High School and president of the graduating class in 1951. He was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Richard married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary Ann (Shoemaker) Fogo. Richard and Mary Ann were long-time residents of Columbus where they raised a family of three girls and four boys. Richard worked for the Ohio Fair Plan until starting the Ohio Hospital Insurance Company. Richard was named CEO of the Year by the Ohio Insurance Industry. After retiring in 1996, Richard and Mary Ann moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to enjoy spending time with family and celebrating 63 years of marriage.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Second Lt, Edward T. Fogo (POW/MIA Korean War), his son-in-law Al Atkinson (Michele) and loving wife Mary Ann (Shoemaker) Fogo. He is survived by his children Michele Atkinson, Phoenix; Edward Fogo, St. Thomas, USVI; Stephen Fogo (Kathy), Swanton, Ohio; Juliette Fogo, Phoenix; Nanette Rodriguez, Scottsdale; Jim Fogo (Lisa), Saratoga Springs, New York; Mark Fogo (Laura), Louisville, Kentucky; and, 9 grandchildren.
Remembrances are welcome by visiting the Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary Guestbook. Private graveside services will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Cemetery on December 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Spina.
