Robert was born on October 25, 1945, in Buffalo Center, Iowa to Henry and Dorothy (Intermill) Van Hove. Bob attended Titonka Community Schools until the 8th grade and then completed his GED as an adult. He married his childhood sweetheart Judith Seaberg on September 25, 1965, in Wesley, Iowa. Shortly after, he was drafted to the Army and was stationed in West Germany. Judy joined him in West Germany where their oldest son Rick was born. After returning to the family farm in Buffalo Center, Iowa, they raised 3 children, Rick, April and Matthew.

Bob farmed until the late 1980's and then began working at Winnebago Industries until he retired. He was active in the Ramsey Reformed Church and would share with anyone the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. He started a Saturday morning men's Bible study, taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, served on the Consistory and affirmed the standing pastor's sermons with many Amens! Bob was proud to support Right to Life by displaying lighted billboards on his property.

Bob enjoyed flower gardening, animals, bike riding and home renovation projects, but mostly he treasured his wife, family and the quiet, country life they shared.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Rick (Candi) Van Hove of Midlothian, TX, and their children Taylor (Tim), Austin, Aaron (Kalie), Mason, Addison, April (Wendell) Eimers of Peosta, IA and their children, Courtney, Lindsey and Kacey, Matthew (Ida) Van Hove of Minnetonka, MN and their children, Madelyn and Sophia and four great-grandchildren Hadley, Hayden, Maverick, and Bayler; sister, Karen Folkerts of Titonka, IA; brothers-in-law, David Seaberg of Moline, IL, and Phillip (Jane) Seaberg of Klemme, IA; sister-in-law Marlene Van Hove of Spirit Lake, IA.

He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith Mary (Seaberg) Van Hove, on March 18, 2021; infant daughter, Jennifer Judith Van Hove; parents, Henry and Dorothy Van Hove; infant brother, Henry; brother, Keith Van Hove and H. Carroll Van Hove; brothers-in-law, Dwight Seaberg and Ronald Folkerts; sisters-in-law, Virginia Seaberg, Ann Seaberg and Leona Van Hove.

Condolences and memorials may be sent in care of his daughter, April Eimers, 638 Julissa Drive, Peosta, IA 52068.

"We were blessed to have Bob and Judy as members of the church family. They invited us into their home and into their lives, encouraging us as we sought to encourage them. And, in the darkest valleys, they gave a living testimony to the grace and peace only found in Jesus Christ! I Peter 3:15: \"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.\""

"Condolences to the Van Hove family ! I worked with both Bob and Judy at Winnebago ! What a sweet couple ! I remember Bob and Judy both talking about their kids ! I remember hearing about Matt moving to the Cities and about the Grandkids as they started coming . I was a part of abible study we had at Winnebago and how people would come to Bob for prayer and support in a place that was not very spiritual place at times. Bob loved his family ascwell as his beloved wife Judy. My mother suffered from altimers as well it\'s a tough disease . God Bless your family. Both Bob and Judy were one of a kind. It\'s hard to not mention them both even after Judy left Winnebago Bob spoke of her often ! Family both will be greatly missed but know they are rejoicing and now will spend Christmas together in heaven with Jesus !!!!! Love Paul Austin"
