Laura Jean Worl, 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Laura was born on October 30, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Charles and Elizabeth Patzell. She graduated from Hayden High School in Topeka in 1964 and then attended Clark Business College. She worked as a claims adjuster for Golden Rule Insurance for 24 years, retiring in 2011. On January 1, 1994, she married Keith Worl. He passed away one month prior to Laura, on October 23, 2021. Laura was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis. She also had been a member of her canasta card club since 1967. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, hosting holiday gatherings. going to the movies, reading, working puzzles, and playing on her iPad. Laura will be remembered as an amazing mother, devoted wife, loving sister and dear friend.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Sonny) Wessel, Indianapolis; son, Brian (Jessica) Russell, Frisco, TX; step-son, Adam (Kim) Worl, Fairmount; step-daughter, Gail (Charlie) Books, Elkhart; sisters, Eunice Shell, Wichita, KS, Donna Wright, Clovis, NM, and Clara (Bill) Welch, Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) and Emily Wessel, John Robert and Charlie Russell, Faith (Josh) King, Grace and Burr Worl, Morgan (Austin) Cook, Gabrielle Books, and Chloe Follis; and five great-grandchildren: Hayden, Max, Oaklyn, Jayden and Cade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents, Charles and Elizabeth; sister, Alice (Jo) Shortt; and step-daughter, Dawn Worl.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240, on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held that afternoon from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. A graveside service will follow at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
