"John, Richard, Charles and all,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I have nothing but the most wonderful memories of your mom, both from my times visiting her as a youngster with my parents in their beautiful house in Carson and later in life seeing her and Elwyn in Arizona. She was such a kind, warm lady. My parents spoke frequently and fondly of Florence my whole life and were always thankful for the central role your parents played in getting my parents together and off to a good start in their lives together. I would not exist had it not been for Florence and Elywn! My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.
--Matt Burt (for those who don't know me, my father, John, or "Dean" as he was known, was Elywn and Florence's nephew--my dad's mother was Venice Burt, Elywn's sister) "
