In loving memory of

KAREN J. LYND
December 27, 1944 - November 11, 2021

Karen Lynd (Kranz) 76, of Harvey passed away on November 11, 2021 and joined her family in heaven and is having a cold PBR and playing poker.

Karen was born on December 27, 1944 in High Wycombe, England, to Ruby (Gibbons) and Phillip Kranz, the second of six children. She came to America on the Queen Mary with her mother and brother Rod.

She attended Norway High School and was a lifetime Yooper. She went on to get her nursing certificate and worked many years in various nursing homes. Her proudest accomplishment was her two children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed playing cribbage and lead the lady's cribbage league for many years. She loved mulligans and stealing opponents missed points. Her grandkids took pleasure in a rare win and wouldn't let her forget it. They also loved teasing her and she loved it.

Politics were also a pleasure and a sin for her. She would argue with the best and wouldn't back down in heated debates. Karen was world-renowned for her lack of patience and for not holding back her opinion.

Karen loved spending time with her family. Going to camp, riding around on the pontoon, sitting by the fire, playing games, and telling stories (lots and lots of stories). She enjoyed hanging out with her friends at the dry dock for a drink, singing "scary-oky" and meeting new friends. Stangers were only friends she hadn't met yet. Hobbies included four-letter words and giving her "stub" finger.

Beloved survivors include her children, Patsy (Craig) Romback and Michael (Vicki) Raatz both of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Phillip Romback, Ryan Romback, Natalie Raatz, Courtney Raatz, Danielle Pelto, and Jack Pelto; four great-grandchildren; special niece, Lynda (Chris) Dimity and family; brother, Rodney (Charlene) Kranz of Illinois; and her dog, Misty. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Phillip Kranz; brothers, Vernon, Clive, and Barry Kranz; sister, Valerie Cowling; and husbands, Robert Lynd and Quintin Raatz.

Karen asked that her friends and family gather for a celebration of her life that will take place on December 19, 2021. Information will be announced at that time.
In lieu of flowers, Karen would like you do something nice for somebody else unexpectedly and without explanation.

Canale & Pennock Funeral Service is assisting Karen's family where memories may be shared at canalepennock.com.
