Michael K. Griffin, 61, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 16, 2021, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Visitation will be Monday November 22, 2021, from 5-7 at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa IA. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at later date.
Michael Kent Griffin was born on April 6, 1960, in Maquoketa, IA, to Jack Griffin and Karen (Johnson) Potter.
Michael worked as a boat mechanic and welder for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was known for his talent in making fishing lures. He and his good friend, Donnie Fahy, participated for more than 20 years in many fishing tournaments.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Amanda (Kenny) Schmidt of Preston, IA and April Griffin of Stanwood, IA; grandchildren, Keylee, Vayda, Rhyker Schmidt and Oaklee Christiansen; brothers, Joe Potter of Maquoketa, IA, and Matt Potter of Monmouth IA; sisters, Angel and late husband Jim Schiffer of Maquoketa IA, Cindy (Terry) Koontz of Maquoketa IA, and Lisa (Alan) Bliss of Andrew IA.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Michael Griffin memorial has been established.
