Agnes H. Parkin

Agnes H. (Greenlund) Parkin, 102, of North Smithfield, died November 16, 2021 in St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Everett Parkin, Sr., whom she married May 11, 1940. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Elpe) Greenlund.

Mrs. Parkin worked as a a bank teller for the former Woonsocket Institution for Savings and Loan and RI Hospital Trust. Agnes was a parishioner of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and was a member of its choir, as well as, the Lutheran Church Women. She was also a member of various Woonsocket Senior Citizen groups and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Everett Parkin, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Burrillville; her daughter, Judith Helm and her husband, Ted, of Cumberland; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Gail Champagne, and sister of the late Eleanor Guinette.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 871 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.

"My sincere condolences to Agnes' family. I had the pleasure of working with her at RI Hospital Trust Bank from 1962 to 1968 when I transfered to Providence location. She was a wonderful person who cared deeply for her family and friends.. she will be missed by all who knew her, RIP "
