DONALD J. DALLAS
September 26, 1926 - November 10, 2021

Donald J. Dallas, 95, of Marquette, passed away Wednesday morning, November 10, 2021 at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living in the presence of his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Don was born on September 26, 1926 in Marquette to the late Domenick and Mercedes (Bourgeois) Dallas and had been a lifelong area resident. Over the years Don owned and operated several businesses primarily in the dry cleaning and laundry industry in Marquette and nationwide.

He was very active in many civic and business organizations locally, statewide and nationally. He was the last living charter member of the Marquette Exchange Club. Don was always there to help those interested in starting a small business.

In his free time, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. In his retirement years, he often wintered between Texas and Florida.

Survivors include five children, Dennis Dallas of Austin, TX, Michael (Helen Jean) Dallas of Green Bay, WI, Donna (Bill ) Laurich of Marquette, Gary (Gail Ivey) Dallas of Green Bay, WI, and Daniel (Deborah) Dallas of Marquette; nine grandchildren, Sherry Dallas, Tom Dallas, Dallas "DJ" Pesola, Staci (Scott) Keith, Ben Dallas, Beth (Dan) Kehoe, Dany (Sarah) Grantham, Dustin (Leslie) Grantham, and Drew (Katy) Grantham; also several great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and former daughters-in-law, Kay Grantham of Texas and Linda Shorkey of Florida. Additional survivors are Don's longtime companion, Margaret Jordan of West Allis, WI and her family, Steve (Karen) Jordan, Dave (Julie) Jordan, Jaime (Kevin) Wagner and grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his parents was Don's wife, Violet Dallas in 1996, a sister, Theresa Palomaki and grandson, Dean Domenick Dallas.

The Dallas family would like to extend sincere gratitude to both the staff of Brookridge Heights Assisted Living and U.P. Home Health and Hospice for the tender care they provided to Don while he was a resident at Brookridge Heights.

A private family graveside service will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Dallas family has entrusted Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services where memories of Don may be shared at canalefuneral.com.

"Don was such a big part of our lives especially my husband Mike. Don was like a father to him. I recall the great visits both Mike and I had with your dad and mom. I remember the evening when Don was down in our family and my youngest child brought her big rabbit in Don asked to hold him and he was getting his suit covered in rabbit fur I felt so bad and with a big smile he said ?I know a great cleaners ?. Don was one of the best! Sending prayers ??????"
