Jered Alexander McLeod was born in San Diego, CA on August 25, 1993, to Jerry and Jacqualyn McLeod. He was the oldest of two children. Growing up Jered was quiet but very observant. In his younger days, he loved putting together LEGO sets and puzzles and enjoyed reading intriguing books. Jered was also a good writer and would get upset when his mother insisted he compose thank-you notes. He especially enjoyed working with computers, playing video games, and Anime. According to his sister, he was a big nerd. Jered also had an ear for music and played the clarinet and violin.
Jered was raised in a Christian home and attended Daysprings Christian Fellowship where he was also baptized.
Jered graduated from Kearny CTA High School in San Diego, CA in June 2011. He won a small scholarship from the ACE Mentoring Program and attended San Diego Mesa College desiring to become an architect. Jered later attended the San Diego Job Corps where he met some of his closest friends.
Jered worked many jobs before landing a job at NASSCO where he worked for about a year before his most recent job at CTR. He had only been employed at CTR for three weeks as a 3rd Class Marine Electrician before his death.
Jered was living his life and on a journey to great things. Rest in peace Jered.
Memories of Jered will be cherished by his mother, Jacqualyn McLeod; his father, Jerry McLeod; his sister, Jada McLeod; Sparkle (fur baby); grandmother, Gloria Thompson-Palmer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jered will be missed by all.
