James Sheldon Jones
March 1, 1928 - November 8, 2021
James Sheldon Jones, age 93, of Lexington passed away November 8, 2021 at Alston Brook Nursing Home.
He was born March 1, 1928 in Bald Knob, West Virginia the son of the late Virgil Jones and Clarice Jones. Also preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Violet Jones; and sons, Jerry Jones and Joey Jones.
Mr. Jones honorably served the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked in West Virginia in the Coal Mines until his retirement. James lived a long, happy, and healthy life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jane Jones, Jackie Kessinger and Jeff Jones; grandchildren, Casey Jones, David Jones, Joey Jones and Nick McCarty; great grandchildren, Noah Jones, Allessa Darnell, Braxton McCarty, Brailynn McCarty and Waylon Jones; sister, Emily Cornett; and numerous other loving friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
