Claire J. Giguere, 71, of Woonsocket, spent the last few days here on earth surrounded by her loved ones. As she wished, she celebrated her birthday, then passed away peacefully on the morning of November 6, 2021, in Woonsocket Health and Rehab Center. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Simonne (Lebrun) Giguere.
Claire had a great love for life and the people that were in it. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Whether she met you once or saw you on a daily basis, she knew everything about you and your family. She was a very proud woman. She always had a little pouch packed away with her lipstick, eyeliner, nail files and often pictures of loved ones, ready to go if she needed to go somewhere.
She had a great love for cats. She cared for many cats throughout her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her two brothers, Robert Giguere of Woonsocket, and Oliver Giguere, Jr. of Blackstone, MA; two sisters, Gertrude Champagne of Woonsocket, and Paulette Lamberto of Woonsocket; her nieces and nephews, Tammy Roy, Eric and Lucas Giguere, Tina Gelinas, David Lamberto, Ann-Marie McMillan and Michelle Giguere; as well as great nieces and nephews, Aaron and Owen Lamberto, Mia, Nick and Shayne Roy, Lilyana Giguere, Marrisa, Marcus and Marina Gelinas, Katrina, Sheridan and Scott Fernandes, Cody, Cyle and Crystal McMillan; and her great-great nieces, Julianna Williams and Bristol Bushway.
Her funeral will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 beginning with visitation at 10AM followed by a service at 11:30AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, 266 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895.
