James E. Wininger
September 23, 1929 - November 5, 2021

James E. Wininger, 92, passed away while at the Daviess Community Hospital, November 5, 2021. James was born September 23, 1929, to Harold and Dovie (Purdue) Wininger. He was married to Sandra L. (Hudson) Wininger and she survives.

James served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was retired from the Chessie Railroad. He loved woodworking and farming.

Those who now cherish James' memory include: his wife, Sandra; children: David Wininger of Brazil; Doug (Janet) Wininger of Montgomery; Roger (Marsha) Wininger of Wheatland; Charlotte McGinn of Brazil; Marsha (Kurt) Cooley of Sioux City, Iowa; Tony Wininger of Huntingburg; Pammy (Robert) Padgett of Washington; Michael (Jess) Wininger in Florida; Jim Wininger in Arizona; and Tracy (Blake) Haag of Plainville. James leaves one brother, Howard "Buzz" Wininger of Washington. Additionally, there are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

During his lifetime, James mourned the loss of his parents, Harold and Dovie Wininger; brother, Virgil Wininger; and sister, Peggy Adams.

A funeral service and entombment for James Wininger is planned for Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 11:00 am, in the Sugarland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Father Scott Hedrick officiating.

The staff of the Ed Lee Mortuary is honored to be entrusted with James Wininger's arrangements.
