"Kim and I had the pleasure of living next to Rich and the family on Long Pond. Many laughs and great memories. He truly loved his family and loved living on the water. He never took living on the water for granted. I'll miss seeing him looking out over the water and feeling how lucky he was. "

"Always had a good laugh when I saw Dicky?.. I started working at the ?War Memorial? in the late eighties and mind you I did not come from a ?hockey background.? One day trying to be part of the gang and trying to fit in I opened up the sports section to the Democratic and Chronicle and saw the leading scorers for hockey. I then intelligently blurted out?.Wow, this Leemee X that plays for the Penguins is having a great year! Dicky never let me live that one down! Every time I saw Dicky (40 years later)he would call me Leemee-X! Ever since that day whenever I hear someone talk about Mario Lemieux ?(proper French pronunciation) I just think of that character Dicky Mason?..RIP my friend."

"I was fortunate to meet Dicky years ago at CMAC. His knowledge and the manner in the way he treated people was truly something to respect and learn from. Wish I had a chance to snow ski with him and enjoy a glass of red wine at the end of the day. Scott R"

"My cousin Dicky has a special place in my heart. One of the fondest memories I have of him that shows his true character and how much Family meant to him. It was at the end of his Mom?s funeral and he decided to take one of the huge flowers arrangements and walk it over to my parents grave. Here comes Dicky with this big purple flower arrangement walking towards my parents grave showing his love and respect for them! Beautiful gesture of a man who while grieving his loss, wanted to show his love to his Aunt and Uncle. I will always remember how much family meant to him. Dicky?s heart was huge! He will Truly be missed. Until we see each other again love you Dicky??"

"I have known Dickie since I was a little girl - even though he was not my blood uncle, he was always Uncle Dickie to me. I was there when he married Joanne, and I remember his children being born. He was a good man, and I will miss him. :) Rest well, Uncle Dickie."

"Rich was the kind of guy who made travel hockey so amazing! Seeing him perched at the bar, playing the extra (quick draw), somehow kept a long standing tradition going that meant so much to us. He will always be remembered for the joy and commitment he brought to our hockey family. Thank you for the memories!"
