Maryellen Flynn

Maryellen Flynn, 50, of Chepachet, died peacefully November 6, 2021 at home. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Kelly) Flynn.

Maryellen was a 1992 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She worked at RIARC for 10 years, then volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 10 years, with her beloved brother-in-law, Josh. She often made a point of donating to several causes, including support for Haiti, Kids with Cancer, and Save the Whales.

Maryellen brought joy to those who knew her. She was a kind, thoughtful soul, a light and an inspiration to anyone who met her. She was an avid Red Sox fan, and traveled many times to Florida for spring training and regular season games. She loved golf and bocci and would play at her favorite Maine vacation spot, Poland Springs. Maryellen loved football, her Pittsburgh Steelers, and loved to tease her family-who are all Pats fans.

She is survived by three brothers, Kelly Padden and his wife, Patti, of Long Beach, CA, James Flynn and his partner, Francine DuBois, of Woonsocket, and John Flynn and his wife, Laure, of Woonsocket; four sisters, Donna Jane Kovacich of Woonsocket, Trisha Fakhry and her partner, William Zachariewicz, of Douglas, MA, Kathie Flynn and her partner, Marilyn Rojas, of Chepachet, and Karen Flynn of Chepachet; many nieces and nephews; and several great nephews. She was the sister of the late Mark and Glenn Padden, and of her beloved late brother in law, Josh Kenney.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 beginning with visitation at 4pm, followed by a service at 6pm in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
