Janice Darlene Stemler
July 22, 1935 - October 24, 2021

Janice Darlene Clarke Stemler, 86, passed away on October 24, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona. A private family funeral will be held and burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa will follow.

Janice was born on July 22, 1935, the oldest child of Henry and Kathryn (Houk) Clarke. She grew up on the family farm outside of Norwalk. She attended school in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1954. Following school she attended Drake University. Janice enjoyed volunteering with Ankeny Genealogy Chapter, receiving a Life Time Achievement award in April, 1990. She was talented in numerous crafts: crocheting, sewing, quilting, and counted cross-stitch. She was a member of the Ankeny United Methodist Church for 30 years before transferring her membership to Shepard of the Valley United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona in 1991.

She is survived by her children; Barbara (David) Albright, Michael Stemler, and Wanda Caldwell; her brother Jody Clarke; sisters-in-laws Nancy (Don Henry) Clark and Kathy Brandenburg; brother and sister-in-law Fred (Marlene) Stemler; many nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jimmy.

Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with the care of Janice and her family.
