In loving memory of

Jon David Stoehr
September 28, 1947 - October 16, 2021

Jon David Stoehr age 74 passed away on October 16, 2021, in the comfort of Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Jon was born on September 28, 1947, in Toronto, Canada to Robert and Ruth (Levy) Stoehr. His family moved to El Paso, Texas in the early 50s where he spent his childhood. In the summer of 1968, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he met and married his best friend Dianne on November 28, 1969. Jon and Dianne welcomed the birth of their daughter, Ruth, on May 26, 1974. In November 1979, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona to start a new chapter in their life.

Jon worked as a mail carrier and trainer for the US Post Office for 20 years. He was on the same route his entire post office career. He watched the neighborhood kids grow up and the parents grow older. He was kind and considerate; a fabulous neighborhood mailman.

Jon loved his family fearlessly. He was so proud of his daughter and her achievements. Jon was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed traveling, music, concerts and Stephen King novels. He saw all the great rock bands of the 60s and 70s with Dianne. Jon loved Christmas and collected Christmas tree ornaments. If Jon had his way he would have kept the Christmas tree up year-round.

Jon is survived by his wife Dianne; his daughter Ruth Fischetti (husband Joe); his brothers Paul Stoehr and Terry Stoehr of Arvada, Colorado and nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Canova, South Dakota.

The family of Jon Stoehr wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Hospice of the Valley, Eckstein Center, for their compassion and kindness.
