Marilyn E. (Swartz) Horton

Marilyn Horton, 73, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Marilyn was born on April 8, 1948, to Vernon and Doris Swartz of Breesport, NY. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Swartz and Lori (Horton) Burlingame, and dear friend, Bev Hern.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, John Horton; two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Palcich of Flower Mound, TX and Amy Horton of Rochester; beloved granddaughters, Kathryn and Sydney Palcich; brother, Ronald Swartz of Horseheads, NY; brother-in-law James (Suzanne) Horton of Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters-in-law, Christine (Ed) Stockum and Sarah Hatfield, both of NJ; two nieces, Tammy (Dale) Aldrich of Winter Park, FL; Patricia (Jason) Peters of Lowman; two nephews, Greg (Sharon) Swartz of Elmira Heights; and Jeff Swartz of Orlando, FL; and many grandnieces & grandnephews.

Marilyn was a graduate of Horseheads High School ('66) and Elmira Business Institute. She was employed by the Greece Central School District at Autumn Lane Elementary School for more than 28 years. She also operated her own catering business for many years. She loved to cook for family and friends and was known for her delicious potato salad. Marilyn and John were fortunate to travel extensively with family and friends throughout the US and the Caribbean islands.

Visitation will be Friday, October 22 from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturday, October 23 from 10:00-11:00 am at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane Rochester, NY. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at 11:00am Monday, October 25th in Maple Grove cemetery, Horseheads, NY.

The family asks that you give consideration to making donations in Marilyn's name to your local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
