In loving memory of

Eric Paul Julius
August 24, 1986 - October 7, 2021

Eric was born August 24, 1986 to Colleen and Randy Julius, and grew up in a small town just south of Dallas. On these 8 acres is where his parents encouraged him to explore, and cultivated his life-long passion for science, fishing, and outdoor adventures.

So, it came as no surprise when he decided to get a degree in Biology. He moved to San Marcos where he attended Texas State University and obtained a Bachelor's in Aquatic Biology. Wanting more, he pursued his Master's degree and was nearing its completion at the time of his death.

Eric thrived in his element on the rivers and lakes in central Texas. His intense love of nature carried him many miles into the most remote areas of the hill country in search of secluded fishing holes to test out his hand-crafted flies. Over the years, he became a brilliant innovator of intricate ecosystems and an expert at caring for those delicate species living inside them. His respect and appreciation for all living things lead him to focus his work on endangered species. He had found his calling.

It was his boisterous laugh, ornery personality, kind soul, and extraordinary intelligence that drew people to him. One of these people turned out to be the absolute love of his life, Kylie. To say he was head over heels for her would be an understatement. The love they shared was palpable and beautiful.

He is survived by his wife Kylie, his parents Randy and Colleen Julius, his sister, her husband, and their daughter Carla, Sammy, and Abigail Jenkins, and his grandmothers Grace Morris and Carolyn Julius.

Eric left a permanent beautiful mark on the world and everyone who knew him, and he will forever be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be sent in Eric's honor to the Texas Living Waters Project
