Julia De Paz

Julia Erica De Paz was called to heaven on Saturday morning, October 9th, 2021. Her time of passing occurred in her home in Cedar Creek, Texas, she was 41 years old.

Julia was born on August 22, 1980 to Roberta Carbajal Rodriguez and Saul De Paz in Austin, Texas. Known by those closest to her as "Yuya", she was lighthearted and loved spending time with her family. Growing up, Julia faced many hardships, but she drew strength from God, her siblings, and her mother and persevered, always molding herself into a stronger and more independent woman. When Julia was 12 years old her first nephew was born; the glowing excitement she had for him continued with the birth of each and every one of her nieces and nephews. The love she had being a tia was magnified infinite times when she became a mother herself. Much of her time was spent creating a strong foundation on which to build her life and raise smart and kind kids, and anyone who knows Julia's children, knows that she was very successful in this endeavor. She loved her children more than anything and was so proud of their accomplishments and the people they've grown to be. She poured endlessly into her children and family members and even helped to raise her great-nieces, Arabella and Penelope De Paz, happily, always putting them first. She will always be remembered for the unwavering support and care that she gave to those around her.

Julia was beautiful, with honey-brown eyes, and even though she was petite, barely pushing 5ft tall, her bravery and strength was that of giants. She had this way of making you feel comfortable around her, to trust her, and confide in her. She listened, she didn't judge, and reflected on her past experiences to give the best advice. She was fiery and strong-willed and desired authenticity in her life, it was something she valued in the friendships she sought out and it was how she lived her own life - being her authentic self. She trusted in the Lord and surrounded herself with His words of encouragement everyday; around her room you'd find Bible verses written out to remind and guide her through her faith. Philippians 1:9-11 "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God." Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord God, My God, is with YOU!"

Julia worked lovingly alongside her family members at Waterloo City Construction as a bookkeeper and her energy in the office was vibrantly felt. She played a vital role in growing the company and her laugh and smile will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by Juan Diego Gonzales II. Her place of rest will be at his side in Kyle Cemetery. She is survived by her children; Tesiana Gonzales, Juan Diego Gonzales III, and Giulianna De Paz; her mother, Roberta P. Rodriguez and step-father, Luis Rodriguez; her siblings Abel De Paz, Saul C. De Paz and his wife Julie Burch, Gloria De Paz, and David De Paz; her nieces, nephews, and friends she considered family.
