In loving memory of

Joseph F. Jordan III
January 5, 1937 - September 22, 2021

Joe Jordan, owner of Jordan's Mexican Food restaurant, passed away September 22, 2021. Joe was born in Phoenix to parents Mary and Joe Jordan, Jr., whom he adored. He was Senior class president of North High (class of 1955) and graduated from Arizona State University. After working at his Dad's restaurant on Central Avenue, Joe opened Jordan's on 7th Street in 1962. With passion, purpose, diligence, and hard work, Joe enjoyed welcoming all who entered. You could always count on Joe's smile, hospitality and kindness towards others. He appreciated and cared for each and every customer, friend or family member he spent time with. When time allowed, Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also cherished time working on an Indy Car pit crew with his son-in-law Jerry. Joe was extremely proud to be called Son, Joey, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Friend. Because of his generosity, warmth, manners and big heart, he made countless wonderful friends. He loved time with lifelong classmates and their reunions each year. However, Joe was most proud of his family. He loved his Mom's Lebanese food, cooking for family gatherings, family time at the beach, and any time spent with his kids and grandkids.

Joe was a blessing in so many ways. We are grateful our Dad taught us the importance of family, concern for others above yourself, strength through kindness, never complaining, and the art of listening. Joe wished to thank all who loved him, cared for him, visited him, became customers of his, worked for him and gave him friendship. He was so appreciative of everyone. Same to you Daddy, thank you for everything! We are proud of you, love you, and miss you.

Survivors include his wife Sharron, children: Lisa Fletcher (Jerry), Joey (Megan), Ashley, brother Robert Jordan, sister Devoney McNeil, grandchildren: Griffin, Addy, and Ainslee. Visitation Sunday October 10, 1-4:30pm at Hansen Mortuary 8314 N 7th Street Phoenix, AZ Funeral Mass 10:30am Monday at St Thomas the Apostle Church 2312 E Campbell Phoenix, AZ. "Brother, I started coming into your restaurant when I was eight years old with my mom, dad, brother and sister. My mom and dad truly became life long friends with you and your family. Over the next 50+ years we were able to enjoy numerous trips hunting all over the world. We experienced so many places and cultures. We also experienced many years of working on my dad's pit crew for the Indy Car circuit (Fletcher Racing). Remembering when you were a human stop sign in the pits. As we reminisced by an open camp fire "we had the good fortune to experience three lifetimes in one". I was honored to become your son-in-law as well as best friends. I will miss our long walks and talks together. Love you always Jerry "

Lisa Jordan wrote on Oct 9, 2021:

"Daddy, we miss you so much but are so blessed to have had you. You were a true gentleman, loving father and our friend. We shall keep you close in our hearts forever. It will be our honor to continue your legacy of the restaurant. Words cannot thank you enough for the lessons you taught us, the grace which you showed us, and the love you unconditionally gave. Your kindness touched so many lives. Always a giver, not a taker- never complaining about anything. I have never been more proud of you. I will miss everything about you-mostly your smile, the way you said ?hi honey? & ?love you too?, sharing Lebanese food together, your laugh, your cooking, talks while having a car picnic, late night visits to you at the restaurant, trips to the lake or beach, and your hugs & kisses. You are surely with God & the Angels. Give our love to everyone with you now. Enjoy Daddy, until I see you again!! With all my heart, Lisa"
