"Mrs. Cox was one of my favorite teachers. She taught me in 5th grade at Sawnee Elementary and I loved her. She was so kind. I guess that was about 1969. I know that you will miss her terribly. Take heart knowing you will see her again."

"When my family moved to Cumming in 1975 my world was turned upside down. I felt so alone, my home life was in turmoil and so was my relationships with my fellow students in school. The one person who made 100 percent difference in my life was Mrs Clara Mae Cox. She was a gift of God to me in my life she made me feel accepted and loved. She was indeed an island in a sea of confusion that helped me get through a very difficult time in my life. I have never forgotten her to this day and never will. I will always love her."
