In loving memory of

Jan Miller
January 29, 1955 - October 4, 2021

Jan Miller was born on January 29th, 1955, in Chicago, IL and passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 4th, 2021. She had retired to Arizona in 2017 after spending 38 wonderful years as a flight attendant for United Airlines out of Chicago O'hare. She had a wonderful career working alongside her sister Nancy who was also a flight attendant and her ex-husband Alan Miller who was a 777 captain. She married Alan Miller on October 4th,1991 and had a daughter, Stephanie, in 1995. Stephanie is currently living in Arizona and working as a pilot/flight instructor and professional golfer. She will carry on her family's legacy through aviation.

Jan was kind, caring, fun-loving, and always had a surprisingly large appetite for her small stature. She was known for her loud infectious laugh that could be heard across the golf course and her love for good chili and fish n' chips. She was a loving and devoted mother to Stephanie. Jan was an incredible woman and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving daughter and best friend Stephanie Miller, father William Myers, sister Nancy Panaia, brother Brian Myers, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews. Jan will now be able to be with her mother Dorothy and sister Pam again.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.

"I was shocked to hear the news of your passing. We will miss you Jan. You were our first AZ friend after we moved here. I have many memories of the fun times we shared. We will always raise our glass in your memory on thanksgiving and miss you at our table. Barbara and John Cooper "

"Dear Jan, The memories are flooding back. We certainly spent a lot time together and had a lot of fun on and off the airplane. We lost some years apart but am thrilled we reconnected. Those years melted away when talked. You were blessed with a wonderful family and your biggest pride and joy, your daughter. Stephanie has your strength, beauty and kindness. I know how much you love her and wanted to make sure she was going to be okay. I wish there could be one more "ladies night" dancing the night away. The only problem is we would be sleeping before it would be time to go out. I will miss talking with you and looking at the full moon. I love you dear friend. Until we meet again. Julie"

"Was so saddened by this news. I flew many times with Jan and we laughed our way through many flights. She often showed up at our 7 a.m briefings with a huge roast beef sandwich she purchased on her way to work. She would eat that in briefing and then continue to eat all day long on our turn! She was just a little thing and never gained weight even though as I often told her, she ate like a lumberjack!!! Loved flying with her. My deepest sympathies to Stephanie...she adored you girl, you lit up her world. So very sorry for your loss. Jeannie Hiser"
