Roger Darnell Craig

Roger D. Craig 64 of Bedford, Indiana (formerly of Grant County) died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at IU Health Hospital North, Carmel, Indiana.
Roger a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather loved his family and was a faithful servant at his church. He was active in the Kairos Prison Ministry, attended the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, Bedford, Indiana, and a member of Fairmount Friends Church, Fairmount, Indiana. He enjoyed attending Jerry Mc Pike's bible study. Cows were his pets, he enjoyed caring for them and showing them at various fairs around the state. He was a farmer at heart and always wanted to farm, his hobbies include Farmall and Cub Cadet tractors, tinkering and fixing things, bicycling, and playing the Dulcimer. He was a dedicated walker and made sure he got at least 10,000 steps in every day. He was a member and Past Master of Fairmount Masonic Lodge Chapter 635.
Roger was born February 25, 1957, in Marion Indiana, and was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Leffler) Craig. He married Lisa Hikade on August 13, 1977 she survives. He attended J.C. Knight School, Jonesboro, Indiana until the 8th grade, graduated from Madison-Grant High School class of 1975, and received a degree in Computer Science from Colorado Christian University.
Roger was a proud farmer, retired from United States Air Force after 20 years in 2000 where he was a Master Sargent. He was currently employed at the Naval Support Activity Crane Base as an Information System Security Manager.
Roger is survived by his wife, children; Casey (Jeremy) Mason, Summitville, IN Kiley (Jessica) Craig, Summitville, IN Karen (Nathan) Dennis, Fishers, IN Christopher (Candice) Craig, Okinawa, Japan.
Grandchildren; Jeron (Zoey Mitchell) Mason, Jaxon Mason, James, Sam, Mabel, Lotte, and Benjamin Craig, William and Jenna Dennis, Wesley and Alleyne Craig.
Father and mother-in-law; Gale and Phyllis Hikade, Sisters-in-law; Laurie (Steve) Deal, LaNelle (Dale) Carr, Ellen Craig and Sandy Craig.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, brothers; Charles Craig Jr., Dale Craig and Norman Craig, step-mother; Evelyn Craig
Services for Roger have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 415 S. Main St. Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends, Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4-8 PM with Masonic services at 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, October 9, 2021. His funeral service will at 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home followed with burial at Park Cemetery with military honors.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 11, 2021, at 6 PM, at Mt Pleasant Christian Church, 2394 Mt. Pleasant Road, Bedford Indiana.
Memorial contributions are to the Fairmount Masonic Lodge or Kairos Prison Ministry in care of the funeral home.
