Elizabeth J. "Bettie" Gormally, 98, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Friendship Haven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM on Friday, October 8th at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. With Covid 19 still prevalent, please wear a mask if able to do so.

Bettie is survived by her children Carole M. (Ralph) DeLong of New Brighton, MN; James W. Gormally of Fort Dodge; Thomas P. (Malayka) Gormally of Seattle Washington; Linda K. Gormally of Plymouth, MN; John L. Gormally of Fairmont, MN; Robert J. Gormally of Williston, ND; Denis B. Gormally of Minneapolis, MN; William G. (Mary) Gormally of Fort Dodge; Janet A. (Jon) Clark of Fort Dodge, 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Josephine (Greenwell) Grannan; her husband, J. W. "Bud" Gormally in 2001; daughters, Beth Gormally-Hemann and Mary Alice Gormally; and siblings, Earl Grannan, Harold Grannan, and Ursuline Mayer.

Elizabeth Jane Grannan was born August 10, 1923, in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1941, and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1945. She was employed as a nurse for a short time before becoming a homemaker to care for her children. On May 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Bud Gormally at Sacred Heart Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. In 1958, the family moved to Minneapolis when Bud was transferred there for work. In 1970, they made their home in Fairmont, MN and then moved back to Fort Dodge in 1978, after his retirement. Bettie was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Legion of Mary. Bettie enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and watching the birds and squirrels. She loved her big family meals and doing the "Gormally Wave" as family left to return home.
