In loving memory of

Mary Dickerman
August 3, 1945 - October 2, 2021

Mary Joelene Dickerman, age 76, of Quincy, died on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 7:15 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

Mary was born August 3, 1945 in Quincy Illinois, the daughter of Joel and Margaret Carter. She married Antone "Tony" Dickerman on June 12th, 1981, in Quincy, Illinois. He survives.

You would be hard pressed to find someone in Quincy that Mary didn't know. This was a result of her time going through the Quincy Public Schools, her 25-year career at Gardner-Denver, and her post-retirement life working at Hy-Vee at 12th and Harrison. If you didn't know Mary, she probably knew you. While Mary had a quite demeanor, she enjoyed a zest for socializing, which made her the wonderful woman that she was.

Mary's family and friends were near and dear to her heart, and she would stop at nothing to ensure that those she cared about had what they needed. Mary would give you a reason to smile every day. As an avid sports fan, Mary was a one-stop shop for anything you needed to know. Her sharp sense of humor would keep you on your toes. Mary was all we could ask for as a daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, and friend.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Tony, include two children, Brent (Crystal) Daugherty of Quincy, and Amanda (Ben) Van Ness of Quincy; three grandchildren, Nathan (Paige) Daugherty, Olivia Van Ness, and Emma Van Ness; two great-grandchildren, Elora and Nolan Daugherty.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Brian L. Daugherty.

Pam Laaker wrote on Oct 6, 2021:

"Amanda, Brent, and Tony -- You have my deepest sympathy with the passing of our Gardner Denver friend, Mary -- your Mother / Wife. In recent years as Mary worked at HyVee on Harrison handing out food samples, she became the Greeter of many, but included a good number of Gardner Denver personnel - past and present. Mary kept me up-to-date on the GD Retirees, bless her heart. Not to offend anyone's beliefs, but in my heart I feel Mary has re-united with her beloved Brian. Take good care, Pam Laaker"
