"I came to Maquoketa in the spring of 1962. Fresh out of college as a veterinarian. I was assigned to do the livestock inspection work at the Bowman Cattle Co. A local sale barn on Grove Street. There I met Gene Ehlers. We worked side by side many long days. He was easy to work with. A great sense of humor. I will never forget those days. I will never forget him. Dr. Donald Yanda"
