Shirley C. (Barker) Filip, 92, of Blackstone, died July 6, 2021 at the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge. She was the wife of Joseph J. Filip, with whom she married for 67 years. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Gertrude (Healey) Barker.
Shirley was a graduate of Woonsocket High School. Before becoming a homemaker she worked at McCarthys for several years. She enjoyed scratch tickets, canasta, trips to Foxwoods, and most of all being with her family.
The family would like to thank the staffof Lydia Taft House, and Compassus Hospice for the phenomenal care they provided.
Besides her husband, Joe, she leaves their children, Gary Filip, Gail Poirier and her husband Bruce, and Tami Lemay all of Blackstone; six grandchildren, Tashia and her husband Jai, Tabatha and her husband Steve , Heidi, Kyle, Joshua, and Samuel; seven great grandchildren Torri, Laini, Lehvi, Sadia, Harlo, Talula, and Jagger. She was predeceased by her sisters, Arlene, Eleanor, Doris Barker and her son in law Michael Lemay.
Her visitation will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 from 5-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St, Woonsocket. All other services are private.
