Eleanor M. Laplume

Eleanor M. (Marcil) Laplume, 90, of Woonsocket, died May 4, 2020 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Normand Laplume whom she married November 25, 1948. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Herve and Mary (Moran) Marcil.

Mrs. Laplume worked for thirty years for Swank Jewelry, Attleboro, retiring as a group leader. She enjoyed BINGO, reading, knitting and crocheting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her husband Normand, she is survived by three daughters, Gloria Cavalieri and her husband Dominick of Woonsocket, Susan Malo and her husband Richard of North Smithfield, and Carol Picard and her husband Thomas of Woonsocket; a sister, Lucille Menard of North Smithfield; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Donald Marcil and Margaret Harnois.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation (payable to GGBCRF), 249 Roosevelt Ave., Suite 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860 or online at gloriagemma.org
