In loving memory of

Alan W. Souza
December 11, 2019

Alan W. Souza, 71, of Millville, died December 11, 2019. He was the beloved husband to Claudette (Brodeur) Souza for the past 45 years. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Gil Souza and Doris (Langevin) Souza of Virginia Beach, VA.

As a young man Alan was an athlete and played hockey at Mount Saint Charles where he graduated in 1966. He had a love of cars, which drove him into the profession of Auto Body, owning and operating his own auto repair shop. He was a hard worker with a lot of pride and passion for his work. While he loved his work, he also loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing with his Amigos, Robert Harnois, Larry Baillargeon, and Paul Simard, his childhood friends. He also liked playing cards and was well-known for his sense of humor. He left us with many funny, happy memories. Alan was a generous person with a big heart, who even in death was still giving by donating to New England Donor Services. He will be missed.

He was the loving father to the late Michael Souza, Sheryl Agrusa of Novi, MI, Susan McMann of Millville, MA, and Lauren Gaylord of Virginia Beach, VA. He was adored by nine grandchildren, Alex and Megan Souza, Allison and Jonathan Gaylord, Reis, Nolan, and Riley McMann, and Julia and Sophia Agrusa; as well as his one great-grandchild, Kaiden Souza. He was the brother of Mark Souza of Punta Gorda, FL, Gail Lambert of Bentonville, AR, Linda Shugrue, and Tina Yomtob, both of Virginia Beach VA, as well as the late Dennis Souza.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895.
