"Bobby and I went through a lot together over the years. We became ""Best of Friends"" immediately, in 1981 and Bob was always quick to remind of that, telling me "" I consider you my best friend"" Just about ever time I saw him. We confided in each other a lot, about many things, life, family, jobs, etc. For 3 straight years, back in the mid-80s' , we always got a beach house together by Scarborough Beach, rented through Durkin's Cottages. At First, Jim (Durkin) did not want to rent to a couple of guys. Then he realized how responsible we were and called me for years to come back. That really meant something to us. He was always polite and courteous and addressed my Dad as Mr. Roberti. He had a lot of respect of others and helped out many people, with different projects, including my own, when I bought my current house and was about to renovate it. However , I think his greatest gift to the world was one to his family. He loved and took care of his mom, in her tough times. I know he adored and loved his daughter very much and went over and above , what most dads would ever give their kids, while speaking highly of her accomplishments. I never knew a dad who loved his child, as much as Bob did. He was also like the brother I never had. Even though we grew apart over the years, as priorities changed, we always remained in touch and knew , if we had to, call upon each other, anytime of day or night, with any kind of problem, we would have been there for each other . That was how I knew Bobby... I knew him as a true friend. He will be sorely missed."
"Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Prayers go out to you all."
