Elaine (Lareau) Bergeron, 74, of Nashua, NH, passed away January 27, 2018 at the Brookdale Health Center in Cumberland, RI. She was the loving wife for 42 years of Gerard J. Bergeron. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Eloi and Eva (Prefontaine) Lareau.
She was the loving mother of two sons, Stephen Bergeron, and his wife Karen of Lincoln, RI and Dr. Daniel Bergeron, and his wife Kristina of Tulsa, OK; two grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Bergeron; a brother, Eugene Lareau of Mt. Crawford, VA; and a sister, Suzanne Lareau of Denver, CO. She also leaves numerous nephews, nieces cousins.
She was a communicant of Infant Jesus parish in Nashua, NH where she assisted her husband in his role of Director of Religious Education for many years. She later served in this same role for St. Josephs parish in Salem, NH. Earlier in life she was an elementary school teacher in Sumter, SC a homemaker. She was a graduate of St. Clare HS in Woonsocket and St. Marys College in Hooksett, NH.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 beginning with visitation at 6 9 PM in the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton, NH with a service taking place at 8 PM. Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, NH. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Thoracic Society.
