"We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Gus and we are keeping you in our thoughts during this difficult time. He was a very lucky man to have spent all of his life surrounded by his loved ones. While his passing will certainly leave a hole in your heart, I'm sure it is a comfort to know that you were able to create so many family memories for you and your family to cherish. Our deepest sympathy - George, Shannon, Drew and Cameron"

"Having lived next door to my aunt Carmen and Uncle Gus for many years. I grew to know them very well. He was a man who would do anything for you. Brought my kids ice cream right before dinner, and always had that smerky smile. I once mentioned that I like this coat rack he had made in his hallway. Next morning I could hear banging outside my door. There he was hanging up the coat rack. This is only one of many things he did. He was there to get our barn up. He would sit in the chair with his coffee and Danish and direct everyone working as to what and how to do things. We will miss him very much. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. God Bless you and keep you."

"I have only known Gus for a little over a year but in that short time I learned a lot about him. I met him right before he lost his wife last April and I know he missed her more than anything, they had an amazing love story. I enjoyed my time spent with Gus and I'll hold those memories with me forever. I'll never forget his hilarious sense of humor even at 90 years old he still had it! I will miss our talks about his past jobs and memories of growing up, most of all I will miss getting his Boston cream donut and seeing the biggest smile each time I gave it to him and said ""It's Thursday, donut day"". He would always offer to give me a dollar but after a while he stopped because we went to lunch he would always want to pay so I said we were even! I'm sorry for your family's loss. He will be missed, but he sure did live a long and happy life filled with amazing family and friends. "

"My condolences to Michelle, sue, Jean and family. I only knew gus a short time, but the time I did spend with him was cherished. He always tried to make people laugh, he had his jokes, he was such a caring, loving person. Always tried to offer me a grilled English muffin or a glass of red wine even though I was there to take care of him! :) That's just the type of person he was, a caretaker. He loved Carmen with all his heart And missed her dearly. Gus loved his chocolate and especially the cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden. Always had to stop him from picking green tomatoes! He was impatient. Gus will be greatly missed and forever in my heart.. I'm very thankful I got to work with him and I will remember his smile, his wisdom and most of all his sense of humor."
