Vivian T. (Joubert) Nadeau, 88, of North Smithfield, passed away peacefully November 23, 2016 in St. Antoine Residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edgar E. Nadeau. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Rosaria (Brodeur) Joubert.
Vivian worked in the classified advertising department at The Woonsocket Call for over fifteen years, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church, Woonsocket and a member of their Seniors Club, as well as a member of the First Tuesday Social Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with family and friends, square dancing and line dancing, and spending time with her family in Maine , especially enjoying time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, Suzanne Nordstrom and her husband Paul of North Smithfield, Paul Nadeau and his companion Kathleen Loparto of Lincoln, Michele Carpentier and her husband Paul of Woonsocket, Richard Nadeau and his wife Kerry of North Smithfield and Lisa Boyle, M.D. and her husband David of Lincoln; her brother Robert Joubert and his wife Joan of Woonsocket; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Nadeau, Kara Chace, Lindsey Bray , Jack, Molly and Grady Boyle and two great grandchildren, Harper Chace and Cole Bray. She was the sister of the late Normand Joubert.
Her funeral will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 9:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Josephs Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours are Sunday from 1 - 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miriam Hospital Cancer Center, 164 Summit Avenue,Providence, RI 02906.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Villa, St. Antoine Residence and Miriam Hospital Cancer Center for their exceptional care and support.
