In loving memory of

Joseph J. Mariani, Jr.
October 8, 2016

Joseph J. Mariani, Jr., 70, of Bellingham, died at home on October 8, 2016. He was the husband of Christine Hughes. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph J., Sr. and Helen (Kokolska) Mariani (former owners of The Milk Can in Lincoln, RI).

Joe was a jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he worked many different jobs in different capacities including being the owner and operator of J and S Laundromat in Cranston, RI for many years and Personal Touch Dry Cleaners in North Smithfield for several years. He treated his work-staff like family and therefore, was a very successful business owner. For the last 20 years, Joe worked for Innovative Coatings in Medway, MA. and had never planned to retire.

Joe served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife, Christine, Children, Gina Lambert and her husband James of Glendale; Joseph Mariani and his wife Sara of Woonsocket; Julie Kidwell and her significant other Jeremy Noiseau of Woonsocket, Allison Mariani of Mapleville; and their mother, Sharon Mariani of Mapleville. Joe is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 1-3 PM, with a service at 3 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PMC-Evans Crew (please mail checks to Aimee Mandeville 23 Leonard Drive, Harrisville, RI 02838).
