NORTH SMITHFIELD - Richard ""Rick"" A. Guerin, 68, of North Smithfield, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Jean Paul and Hermina E. (Drolet) Guerin.Richard was a graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy and Johnson and Wales University. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Rick was a longtime member and treasurer of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #818. He was employed at the Florence Dye Works and Textile Company, a family business.He leaves his longtime companion, Linda Doughty of North Smithfield, her children Trisha, her husband Tommy and sons Dylan and Evan, Robert, his wife Tasha, and daughter Kamryn. His brother Robert V Guerin of Pawtucket, sister Estelle G Brennan of Lincoln, nephew Patrick Brennan, his wife Kimberly and daughters Caeley and Molly of West Kingston, nephew Daniel Brennan, his wife Abra, and sons Evan and Adam of Greenville, and niece Maryellen Salter, her husband Robert and children, Lila, Scarlett and Jake of Exeter, many cousins, including Rose Trudeau, and dear friend Father Phil Salois.His funeral will be held Monday, February 15, 2016, at 10 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 -7 PM.
