MILLVILLE Laure (Belhumeur) Berthelette, 83, of Millville, MA died peacefully on April 23, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Paul ""Midge"" Berthelette. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Jean Marc and Marie Therese (Major) Belhumeur. Laure earned her Associates degree in 1983 and her Bachelors degree in Business in 1987, from Bryant College. She was an employed as a business analyst for the New England Telephone Company where she worked for over twenty-five years until her retirement. She was active in community, church, and civic affairs throughout her life. She was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Millville, where she served several terms as president and long time member of the Saint Monica's Guild, a CCD teacher, and member of the choir. She initiated and hosted the popular ""Coffee AndE"" program at St. Augustine's to promote community in the church. In public affairs, she was Town Clerk in Millville and conducted the national census for the town. She served on the Cultural Counsel and Millville Cemetery Commission. She was also active in the Chestnut Hill Meeting House Society, the Mendon Genealogy Society, and Parlez Vous Francais in Woonsocket.Her civic contributions also included many years as a Girl Scout leader, for which she was awarded the St. Anne Medal, the highest national recognition for adults who serve Catholic youth in Girl Scouts. Among many other pursuits she enjoyed genealogy, photography, as well as researching and documenting the history and culture of her hometown and region, acting as the president of the Town of Millville James J. Fitzgerald Historical Society. Additionally, Laure was a talented pianist, a voracious reader, an avid gardener, a spirited card player, and especially enjoyed international travel. She is survived by her six children, including three daughters and three sons: Marie Godin of Maryland and her husband Raymond; Joan Barnatt of North Carolina and her husband Stephen; Kathleen Berthelette of Georgia and her husband Donald Bradley; Paul Berthelette; Gerard Berthelette and his wife Christine; and Edward Berthelette and his wife Lisa Marie, all of Massachusetts. She also leaves grandchildren Jacqueline Peters, Michael Godin, Rebecca Generelli, Evan Barnatt, Kayley and Bradley Groundwater, as well as two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Nicolette Peters and a brother; Jean M. Belhumeur, Jr. of Connecticut. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Augustine's Church, Lincoln St., Millville, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge.
