Dennis Lee Ysker was born on September 5, 1928, in Springfield Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to the late George and Pauline (Schminoske) Ysker. He was baptized on December 1, 1939, and later confirmed on May 3, 1942 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Windom. Dennis received his education in country school 67.
Dennis was united in marriage to Joyce Williamson on August 9, 1969, at the First Lutheran Church in St. James. For many years, Dennis and Joyce farmed outside of Windom until moving into Windom eleven years ago. Even after retiring, Dennis spent countless hours on the farm. He also helped Robert and Richard Olsem with their milking and Clark Lingbeek at Jack Slades Steakhouse on Friday and Saturday nights in the kitchen.
On Wednesday, October 27, 2010, Dennis became suddenly ill and was airlifted to the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the age of 82.
Dennis was a longtime member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom.
He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Joyce Ysker of Windom; two sons, Kirk Ysker (Beth) of Windom; Jason (Natalie) Ysker of Apple Valley; four grandchildren, Wade Ysker of Bingham Lake; Megan Ysker of Mankato; Courtney Ysker of Windom; Brady Ysker Geifer of Windom; four siblings, Dorothy Hochstein of Jeffers; Robert (Evelyn) Ysker of Windom; Joyce (Bob) Carmichael of Anoka; Marlyn Haak of Garfield; brother-in-law, Lester Lindstrom of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bryan Ysker; one sister, Vera Ysker Lindstrom; two brother-in-laws, D.J. Haak and Raymond Hochstien; and two nephews, Gary and John Ysker.
