George Robert Moore, age 75, of Quincy, died on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 8:39 pm in his home.
George was born November 22, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph James and Ruth Russow Moore. In 1995 he married Perla Salgado. She survives.
George attended and graduated from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois, where he played on his high school football team. In his youth, George was an athlete, weightlifter and cyclist. He attended Harry S. Truman College in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned his degree as a Registered Nurse. George had a long nursing career in Chicago area hospitals and long term care facilities.
Above everything else in life, George loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed. George was a proud member of the Catholic Church and cared deeply for his children's Catholic education.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Perla, include two sons, Christopher Moore of Quincy, and Ricardo Salgado of Sacramento, CA; three grandsons, Hudson, Roger and John Moore, and their mother, Erin Moore; a sister, Mary Olcovich of Otis Orchards, WA; and numerous niece and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held with George's priest to honor his life.
