South English- Matthew Brower was born July 21, 1967 in Sigourney, Iowa the son of Arlan E & Evelyn Louise "Honey" (Butler) Brower. He graduated from English Valley High School in 1985 and later served in the US Army. He was a musician and worked for Steve Fisher as a mechanic for many years. On September 6, 2021 Matt was united in marriage to Alicia Marie Weber in South English. He was a member of the bands Hard Barney, Brass Pear and Double Dose. He enjoyed music, nature, going for walks and being the best daddy. Matt died on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his home in South English at the age of 54 years.
He is survived by his wife Alicia; children Mallory, Bryce and Maci all of South English; two sisters Carolyn Schreiner of Grinnell and Sandra Brower of San Diego, California; a sister-in-law Annie (Zach) Schott of South English; mother-in-law Angela (Brad) Allison of Kinross; and nieces and nephews Danielle, Erin and David Brower and Forrest and Bella Schott. He was preceded by his parents and a brother Jeffrey Brower.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Friday, October 1 at Powell Funeral Home. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
